Music: Dominic's Interlude by Halsey

Halsey’s Manic offers a raw and introspective snapshot of emotional turbulence, and one of the album’s most haunting moments comes with "Dominic’s Interlude," a track that blends vulnerability with unexpected depth. Featured on the sixth track of the project, this intimate moment finds Halsey collaborating with Dominic Fike, whose smooth yet soulful delivery contrasts with her signature intensity. Released in 2020, the song serves as a quiet reflection, allowing listeners to step into a space where words feel heavy but not heavy-handed.

The collaboration between Halsey and Fike creates a dynamic that feels both organic and purposeful. While Halsey’s lyrics often cut through with sharp honesty, Fike’s voice on this track grounds the moment in warmth, adding layers that make the interlude feel like a private conversation rather than a public performance. The genre-blending approach—rooted in alternative and R&B influences—ensures the piece resonates beyond typical expectations, making it a standout cut on an album known for its emotional range.

For fans of Halsey’s ability to balance raw energy with tender moments, "Dominic’s Interlude" is a reminder of her versatility. The track doesn’t just exist as a filler; it’s a deliberate pause, a moment where the listener is invited to linger in the space between breath and confession. Whether you’re revisiting Manic or discovering it for the first time, this interlude offers a glimpse into the album’s layered storytelling.
