Music: Oh My Dis Side by Travis Scott

Travis Scott’s "Oh My Dis Side" from his 2015 album Rodeo delivers a hypnotic blend of bass-heavy production and Quavo’s smooth, melodic flow. As the second track on the album, this collaboration immediately sets the tone for the project’s signature sound—raw yet polished, with a hypnotic rhythm that lingers. The song showcases Quavo’s signature vocal style, weaving intricate ad-libs over Travis Scott’s signature trap beats, creating a track that’s as immersive as it is infectious.

The production on "Oh My Dis Side" leans into the gritty, atmospheric textures that define Rodeo, with layered synths and a pulsing bassline that drives the energy forward. Though released over a decade ago, its influence on modern trap and hip-hop remains undeniable, proving how forward-thinking the album was even at the time. Fans of Travis Scott’s early work will recognize the boldness in his approach, where melody and aggression coexist seamlessly.

While "Oh My Dis Side" doesn’t have the same level of mainstream recognition as some of Travis Scott’s later hits, it remains a standout moment in his discography. The chemistry between Scott and Quavo shines here, making it a must-listen for those exploring the evolution of 2010s hip-hop. The track’s enduring appeal lies in its ability to transport listeners into a world where rhythm and lyrical precision collide.
