Music: Self by Khalid

Khalid’s Free Spirit closes with a standout moment in "Self," the album’s 14th and final track. Released in 2019, this introspective cut offers a reflective close to the project, blending smooth production with introspective lyrics that resonate with listeners. While Free Spirit spans a range of styles, "Self" stands out for its quiet intensity, allowing Khalid’s voice to take center stage without the usual polish of his signature sound.

The track’s release marked a deliberate shift in the album’s pacing, offering a moment of stillness before the credits roll. Though not a mainstream single, "Self" earned its place through its emotional weight and raw honesty. Fans of Khalid’s ability to balance vulnerability with melody will appreciate how this song distills the album’s themes into a concise, powerful statement.

"Self" remains a fan-favorite cut from Free Spirit, celebrated for its authenticity and the way it captures the essence of self-reflection. Its inclusion on the album’s end suggests it was meant to linger, leaving listeners with a sense of quiet resolution.
