Music: Fishtail by Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey’s latest track, "Fishtail," offers a hauntingly atmospheric glimpse into the emotional depths of her new album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Released in 2023 as the fourteenth track on the project, the song blends her signature melancholic vocals with a dreamlike, cinematic sound that feels both nostalgic and eerily modern. Fans familiar with her work will recognize the signature themes of longing and introspection, though "Fishtail" stands out for its eerie, almost underwater ambiance, as if the lyrics and production are dissolving into the same melancholic current.

The album’s title hints at a world where hidden places and forgotten paths hold emotional weight, and "Fishtail" fits seamlessly into that narrative. With its slow-building tension and hypnotic instrumentation, the track lingers like a whispered secret, drawing listeners into a space where past and present collide. Del Rey’s ability to craft songs that feel like moods rather than just music makes "Fishtail" a standout, offering a quiet yet powerful reflection on memory and loss.

For those exploring Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, "Fishtail" serves as a perfect example of how Del Rey weaves storytelling into every detail. Whether it’s the choice of imagery or the way the music unfolds, the track captures the essence of her artistry—where beauty and sorrow exist side by side. It’s a moment to pause and let the melody wash over you, just like the tide pulling back to reveal something unseen.
